Advice

I am childfree. No kids by choice. I was sure at age 5 that I never wanted children. At 27 I had my tubes tied, at 31 I had a full hysterectomy. Pushing 38 I am still certain. I came across this blog post that referenced this blog post and I since I thought it was an interesting idea I… Read more »

New Doctors

I have an appointment this afternoon with a new GP. I am a little more than nervous. Why? Well, when you have fibromyalgia getting a doctor who understands it or has any compassion about it is rare. You wouldn’t believe the slew of asstards I had to endure before I found doctors who not only knew what fibromyalgia is but… Read more »

Fibromyalgia

May 12 is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. But to steal a line from the Autism Awareness campaign – in this house, every day is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. Fibromyalgia is the cruelest thing. Just when you think you can not go on one more moment the pain and the brain fog lets up — almost to a point where you start to… Read more »

Shiv a Bitch

A few months ago when Vicious and BW were down for a visit “Shiv A Bitch” was brought up. Now I have said “Cut a Bitch” for years but SHIV is so much more … visceral. Has that touch of rough and tumble high jinx that you can only find in prison. Cut a Bitch could happen almost anywhere –… Read more »

Volunteer

Back Update

Yesterday I had Radio Frequency Ablation on S1, S2, and S3 nerves. It went well. I love the staff at Duke Pain Clinic – they are the best. They told me I would hurt for a few days and be sore but after that I should be pain free. Well no more pain from this issue. The fibro is still… Read more »

Team Sidney

      Comments Off on Team Sidney

I am just so proud of Sidney – how even though he was on a team of rivals from the NHL he did so well. Sidney was the sportsman we all know him to be. I am so thankful that there are people in sports that are decent human beings. I had but lost all hope. And I know right… Read more »

Rant? Yes, thank you.

Comments Off on Rant? Yes, thank you.

People freak me the fuck out. Not all people mind you – but most people. Typically the artsy, eco-friendly people that consider themselves hip parental types with strange-looking toddlers wearing hats that are the missing part of some weird animal costume. Freaky. People who think Andy Warhol was an artist of the highest caliber. I don’t know much about art… Read more »

Happy Birthday to Me!

I was in Florida for my birthday visiting family. Someone should send those people the memo, Florida is NOT supposed to be cold. It was warmer here in Chapel Hill. But anywhooze – we made the best of it. Thirty-seven years and this is what I have learned. You can’t love anyone until you love yourself. Laughing at yourself and… Read more »
